What can Libertarian politicians do at the local and state government levels?

Posted by admin | local, | Saturday 11 April 2009 10:02 am

I've heard a lot from Libertarians running for President and Congress about what directions we should be taking. However, I would like to know what Libertarian candidates can do in the local government setting.

How do Libertarian principles apply to the functions of local government?

Say your a mayor.

You can propose that unnecessary property owned by the town or city be sold.

Say the town owns two town parks instead of one. Propose that one be auctioned off. Lowering taxes is what you can do also.

I've got a checklist of things to get rid of if I ever get elected in my town.
