Mike Shanahan, help build the 9'ers offense in the super bowl years and the broncos offense twice once as O.C. and again as head coach. some of the best offenses in football

I have to say Bill Wash, inventor of the West Coast Offense and responsible for drafting offensive giants like Joe Montana and Jerry Rice

George Halas. The T formation was his great invention, and the Bears tore up the early NFL with it. In fact, they won a Championship game 73-0 one year with it.

Don Shula. You have to score points on offense to win. Shula has more wins than any other coach, in the history of the game. He knew how to coach an offense. Just look at the numbers put up by Dan Marino.

MIke Martz….the rams got nicknamed "the greatest show on turf" you could have put any QB in with his offense and they would have racked up the yards

In the NFL, I'd go with Bill Walsh. His offense revolutionized the pro game like no other. To say that teams are still running the "west coast" offense today speaks volumes since he is credited with developing it some 20+ years ago.
In the college ranks, I'd go with Tom Osborne. He really changed the way NCAA teams ran the option offense. Oklahoma had it's wishbone, but Osborne's team ran a much more sophisticated version. It really tells alot that just 10 years ago, his teams were the dominant force in college football and yet one of the last to run the option.

Paul Brown. Many of the modern systems and ideas perfected and put in place by Bill Walsh and the 49ers originated in Walsh's tenure, (1968-75), as assistant coach of the Bengals, under then Head Coach Paul Brown.

Like what J.S. Bach did in music, Brown set the standard and the stage for many other great coaches in the NFL. Paul Brown's influence in coaching is one of the most important in all of football, and his influence is still felt in football today.
