we're planning to neuter our other dog but we don't know where to look for low-cost. I was just wondering if banfield does it even though the pet is not on a wellness plan.

Yes you can have your pet spayed or neutered at Banfield without being on a wellness plan. The cost at Banfield depends on the area you live in but generally it will cost you around $250 for a neuter and around $350 for a spay. The wellness plans were designed to make things more affordable and allow people to make small monthly payments instead of paying large amounts all at once and you get pretty good discounts. There are plans available for adult pets as well as puppy's. Banfield also accepts vouchers from agency's like SPCA or your local animal control. It may be more expensive at Banfield but with that you get state of the art medical care. Your pet gets complete pre anesthetic blood work, the newest and safest anesthesia, is on an ECG during a sterile procedure, your pet gets IV fluids and pain medications as well. I don't think you can compare the quality to anywhere else. Don't go somewhere just because its cheep. You kind of get what you pay for and since any anesthesia carries a risk of death you want to make sure every precaution is taken.

In short, yes they will. The price will depend on the size of the dog, castration vs. vascectamy (sorry I can't spell), or spaying. should be about $130 roughly.

The Banfield in my area was 3 times the cost of the other vets near me. Call your local animal control to see if they know of any low cost spay/neuter clinics in your area.

Ring them and ask. Or ring round vets for the best price.

Wally's Spay/Neuter Clinic is our low cost option in my city. 45.00 for dogs under 50 pounds 55.00 for dogs over 50 pounds. Your local animal shelter can tell you what is available. At our clinic they will give yearly shots before they spay or neuter and give you a low cost flea/ tick preventative.

    My Banfield charges like 250.00.
